So, all the yellow is missing from the print and its all condensed into a band of yellow at the top of the sheet?

Drum and DV units have been changed or tested and found working.

New ROS assembly installed.

I would try the image processing pwb next. If the laser is not the cause then the laser is getting the wrong instructions on where to expose the drum.

These flat cables could also make problems. You should try changing them before replacing board.

Is that a test printout? Looks like your color registration is off. The lines on the paper aren't laying on top of each other.

Anyone come across this before?

Tried swapping drums and dev tanks but still getting thick yellow band across top of copies/prints.

Machine has recently been relocated and was fine before the move.

The yellow band is on the rear of the transfer belt when I pull it out.

Cleaned all ros windows.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I mainly work on sharp/ricoh, haven't touched Xerox for years.

Seen quite a few of these model recently though. Don't have PWS just service manual.

You dont need pws because there is builtin service diagnose.
Read in service manual adj9.8 colour registration. It's part of MaxSetup
Same procedure is using in Ricoh copiers and all copiers with transfer belt mechanism.

Adjustment
1. Enter the Diagnostic Mode. Refer to Entering PWS Diagnostic mode.
2. Select dC675 from the DC Quick menu.
3. Select Start.

You have pdf service manual for DC250 machine which is the previous machine before DC242.
For your machine you have all UI diagnostic service built into mechine
Go to service mode, registration menu and select registration control-setup cycle.
It's a good practice to do registration adjustments after you change ros unit or transfer belt, or...

Thanks, going back there this week to run registration.

Could this be the reason I'm still getting yellow band after replacing ros?

I emailed user, he said they can run 100's off fine then the yellow band returns. After power cycling machine it's all fine again.

May be one of the reason. Yellow marks on IBT are used for corect registration

Hello,

Client said yellow banding has gone, I will still do registration when I go back.

Main problem now are the three marks he's getting on every print/copy. These are 19cm apart.

I tried a different fuser, and all the drums look good, marks are too close together to be transfer belt.

Anyone know the circumference of the black drum?

Print every color CMYK at 20% separately and you'll see if it's one of drums.
If it's on every color stop the print before fuser and inspect it. If it's not there that's the fuser problem.
