First of all, i am a Konica tech. i am on this machine because it is probably the only one on base, and they have no service contract and I am the only one around who gives free est.
I tried to tell the customer that without great tech support, I am guessing and parts will not be returnable.
They said that it started with the error 116-317, and would tell them to reboot. Rebooting does nothing. Customer did online research that pointed to the logic board. They pulled the board and reseated everything. Now when the machine is turned on, blue screen comes up, and 1 piece of the white bar at bottom of screen shows up, then the machine is stuck on that screen.
My gut feeling on this is to run from it, but they are in a bind. Being military, they have a hard time getting new stuff, but can fix what they own, up to a point.
When I checked online, one forum pointed to memory, but that was for the code, not the blank screen.
Is this worth my effort, or is it a money pit. I also removed the board and ensured everything was seated after they had pulled it.
