    Docucolor 12 - Pressure Roll ?

I have never worked on this model but need to replace a pressure roll. Is this a pretty straight forward mechanical job?

I am assuming the upper roll is the fuser roll and the lower is the pressure roll. My terminology may be wrong.

What other peripheral parts should be changed at the same time??

BTW - this roll seems to have a small groove cut into it and is showing on the copy.

    I appreciate any pointers.

    Thanks

First, suggest you to find service manual before start to do anything on this machine.

When replace pressure roller you need to replace pressure roller striper fingers, also check oil supply assy (donor roll, pick roll, oil filter, oil filc, oil pipe and oil pump.

Procedure for replacement can find in SM.

First will need to remove fuser assy from machine, before that will have to remove covers.
When remove assy from machine, then have to remove just two screws and open fuser assy.

Remove heat lamp from pressure roller and replace roller.

For SM contact Paul at www.manuals4you

        Hi
You cannot say that it is difficult, all u need is little patience in working.
I got the complete service manaul with diagram and illustrations, that will help you, contact me on : agrwalsachin@gmail.com

        Your termilogy is right :
first thin roller is external heat roller
second thick roller is heat roller
        last roller is pressure roller
no need of any other part, only original pressure roller
after replacement check the nip adujstment (10.6mm)
        Check :
if your pressure roller is damaged or aged you will get the problem in back side of the print (like line) and if heatroller is aged you will get the probelm in fornt side print
simple : paper travels between the roller

as a general rule, even if 1 part of the fuser assembly is faulty,
damaged, or worn out, you have to check the condition of the whole fuser.

          1. Oil donor assembly (donor roll, oil wick, oil filter)
          2. heat roll including temp. and control thermistors
          3. pressure roll including temp. and control thermistors
          4. external heat roll including temp. and control thermistors
          5. stripper fingers which may be repaired or replaced
          6. oil pump including oil pipe, reservoir and tube

In your case, you are replacing a PRESSURE roll which means you also need to check the condition of the temp and control thermistors (a big mistake for most technicians who just replace the roller)

then check condition of other parts in the fuser (as mentioned above), replace if necessary

The most IMPORTANT thing to do after replacing a roller (heat, pressure, ext-heat) is FUSER NIP ADJUSTMENT of 10mm-10.5mm (most edocs/ tech manuals say its 10.3mm)
