PSW can't detect machine

my laptop didn't have serial port , so can use USB 2 serial cable ? why i can detect the DCC 400 ? thanks.

some xerox machines will not work with usb to serial converter.
do not know why, just on xerox GSN web site have that explanation.
Xerox provide to their techs laptops with serail and parallel port.

xerox receive a lot of complaint about usb to serial and usb to parallel converters, so xerox suggest to tech to use laptops with serial and parallel port.

It could work, but depends of laptop and converter brand, etc...
Have you set serial port number to COM port 1?

but now new laptop more haven't serial or parallel port .i will try change the com to 1 and see . you mean use the parallel port also can for PWS ?

change to com1, will not work if any other com is selected.

yes if you use usb to parallel convertor it should work with xerox software.

if you have to use lpt port for some xerox aplications you can use usb to parallel converter. but set that port is EPC nad LPT1.
