[Error Code] DC5000 error code 9-343

Hello to all the always helpful people out there, this forum has been an invaluable resource to me for years. What I have is something that has been discussed before in other threads but I have tried everything suggested and still I get the error code 9-343. I have checked the silver patch on the belt and it is fine and I have also replaced the 2nd btr unit with a brand new one and still no change. I have a dc240 here as well and noticed that after the machine first powers up, it cycles the 2nd btr unit and after it checks all the trays it then cycles the IBT belt. Assuming the dc5000 operates in much the same manner, I bypassed the door switches and booted the machine only to find the IBT belt NEVER moved not even the tiniest bit and right away the error comes up. I am aware that code can mean or point to several causes and I am hoping to get some more insight into what else I can check. Thank you all in advance and I look forward to hearing back.

Probably the belt edge sensor is very dusty. Use a flashlight to check if there are dust on black actuator of the edge sensor. If the sensor dont work the IBT wont start to rotate.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. That was actually one of the things I tried already but didn't note in my original post. I went thru the entire assembly and cleaned as much toner as I could see from surfaces, rollers and sensors. I also reseated every connector I could get too.

        Re: DC5000 error code 9-343

The DC5000 edoc states 9-343 indicates the IBT belt did not reach the home sensor in time. There are two sensors at the left rear of the belt, the home sensor and the edge sensor. The home sensor is mounted on the IBT frame inside the belt and looks at a reflective patch inside the rear of the belt. The edge sensor has a tab that rides against the rear of the belt and checks front to rear alignment. If 9-343 triggers 3 times, a lockout is set and NVM741-743 must be reset to 0. Usually, for 9-343, the IBT belt,s reflective patch is defective, (dirty, missing), or the home sensor is dirty or defective. This patch and sensor can only be accessed by removing the IBT belt, which requires removing the IBT assembly. Be sure to center the belt front to rear and run the IBT learn mode.

Thank you very much for that reply. I was afraid that would be the case as the error has triggered at least a dozen times so I'm sure I'm locked out. I understand that the only way to reset the NVM on the dc 5000 is thru the PWS software which I don't have currently. I have for several other machines but not this one. Tried doing it thru the IOT interface but it says that link and chain are invalid which just makes me think it's just not accessible in that way. Any other insight would he very helpful. Thanks

Just thought I would update everyone as to my status. I was able to reset the NVM 741-743 to "0" using the IOTutil.bat feature posted by "mlclm" from a different thread. It seems to have fixed that problem but now I have a new error code I am hoping to get assistance with. 04-329...any thoughts???

Seems you already need the edoc for this machine !
4-329 = IBT drive motor run fail
Run in dc330 004-011 and observe if ibt drive motor run
Or mismatch in nvm. I dont know what iot,,,.bat file done !

                    Re: DC5000 error code 9-343

What I discovered was the NVM just needed to be set to zero. I did that using the IOT util.bat feature on the print engine. That worked perfectly however when I started the machine I got that new error. In my haste to test o neglected to push the IBT assembly all the way in and put the 2 screws back in so I assume just doing that fixed that issue because when I rebooted the machine it came up fine and has been running like a champ ever since. Once again thank you to you and all involved.
