    dcc400 WONT BOOT

Hi I have a Xerox dcc400 which during boot up comes up with error, switch off/on.
I suspect it may be a hard drive problem, can I replace the HDD with a seagate drive which I have at my office, or please advise.

    Thanks

Hi. Would you be more specific (ie. error code or stuck in which DOT). Re: the HDD, I think these are pre-loaded with the system software of the machine. I haven't really tried using one from a commercially available source- but there's no harm in trying

      Hi Techmate

It fails to boot on the 4th DOT , one time it did boot up but we only could use the scan function.

      Cheers

It can be an NVM corruption. Try to reset the ESS NVM or press <POWERSAVE, STOP & 4> simultaneously. If it still does not work, then replace the HDD

Thanks for the info , that seemed to do the trick , what does it do , reinstall the firmware on the HDD?
          Thanks

Yes, it re-initializes the HDD. Cheers!
