    Power Conditioning Devices

Anybody have any knowledge or recommendations about power conditioning devices for Xerox copiers? I'm looking for a power conditioner that I can use on my fleet machines to eliminate power issues as a cause of unusual behavior that I can't otherwise explain.

I understand there is a difference between "online" and "offline" power conditioning devices. Offline devices feed line power until a defect in power is detected; once a defect is detected, the device switches to battery power. Online devices run on battery power all the time, and the line power just feeds into the battery all the time. No switching is required.

I've found that offline devices are a whole lot cheaper! I'd prefer to get one of these, but I don't know if the switching would be bad for the copier.

Anybody have any recommendations, or any specific devices they like?

I cannot comment on the Online/Offline differentiation, but you do need to make sure that your UPS can support the desired wattage. On one occasion I arrived to loud clicking and to see smoke escaping from a UPS designed for computers (~1000W) attached to a 12A MFP (~1500W).

A UPS can solve these transient power issues. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
