[Dead] Xerox colorqube 9201 head to head alignment

    Hello

I'm having a headache with two of my colorqube 9201
Ii have changed the screws on the motors that align the heads but when I go to dc971 to perform head to head alignment it fails.

Is there another way to align the heads?!

I send below images to illustrate the problem.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you all in advance

welcome to the world of colour cubes.

Did you purge the print heads first?

      Hello
      ; )
(yeah it makes you go mad)

      Thank you for your reply.

No i didn't but they purge during the night a couple times a week.
When it happened i made a quick restart and after failing again on the head to head alignent i switched off and the heads when warming up they purge right?

What's the procedure to try to have the machine pass and align the heads.

      Thank You

      Cheers

You will have to do it manually first or it will just keep failling.

        NOTE:
A head purge is required before head alignment can be performed. If a head purge has not been carried out prior to the head alignment dC971 will automatically purge the printheads and report head to head alignment failure. Running dC971 after the heads have been purged will complete the alignment procedure.

so go in and run dc968 first purge all print heads.

Then do dc971 you may have to do this several times.

        Let me know

Hello and Thank You for your support

After trying to perform the head purge a couple of times the machine rebooted itself or at least it attempted but now it doesn't pass the startup screen saying the machine is turning on and doesnt make a sound it freezes.

A couple of hours and still the same, doesnt startup.

Could it be know, that the software gone bad...?

Based on your pictures, all of the lines are within the chevrons ( the v at the top) that and also the fact the alignment fails means more than likely you have multiple stitch motor screws that have cracked. Xerox has new ones that are not plastic so they will not crack. There is a y axis motor for each head and an x axis.

              Thank you for your time.

Thanged the screws (two of them had a crack) machine is almost perfect just a little nodge on the x axis but the head alignment keeps on failing, even after head purge.

Is there a specific order to perform these adjustments.

              Thank you all

I now have the same problem as well. Ha.

Gonna go check the silly plastic connectors.

Does anyone have access to Eureka Doc 1056514? I think this covers the junky connector failures.

                Thanks!

                  Yep!

Upper stitch motor connector cracked in two.

Why would they of made them plastic in the first place?!

                    Done!

Not a bad job if you are already versed in stabbing your face with a fork.

Ignorant little things to change. I had just one cracked but it was completely separated from the screw. Real PITA to get out.

Fixed the head alignment dc971 all up!

Drop a line in here if you are still having problems and I will help.

Side note: dc330 is the only way to view stitch / roll motor activity.
