I have a Xerox workcentre 4150 that wont come to ready. It starts to boot up. Then the screen says preforming self test and thats all it does. No codes or anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try clearing the memory on the main PWN.
1. unplug power from the machine
2. take the back cover off.
3. unplug battery from the Main PWB (pin CN29)
4.Warning: Do not short the battery. Use a Multimeter set to the VDC scale to Discharge the voltage on the pins at CN29 on the Main PWB for 30 second to 1 min.
5. plug in battery
6. place rear cover back
7. plug and power up machine
if that dosn't work, you may have to replace your hard drive -
Mine did that at the beginning, too. It turned out that my problem was just because the drum cartridge was not fully set in properly, but I'm sure you've probably checked that already...Comment

This model machine does not do well with BAD POWER. If the customer has bad power in there building the problem will continue. Hook up power tester to outlet that there copier is hooked up to, preferably a line monitor. This will show and proof to the customer they have bad power. You can keep unplugging the battery and replacing the HDD or formate HDD but it is going to eventually take out the main board or the lvps.Last edited by needlesgxe; 09-15-2010, 02:42 AM.Comment
