I have one that the lead edge is blank for at least an inch wide on every copy. I checked the copy cartridge and dv unit couldn't see no damage, worn spots. did clean out toner and paper dust. any ideas on what causing this problem.

more than anything else it's probably the copy cartridge (The photoconductor), you could flip it over take out the 8 screws and clean the main charge and empty some of the chuncks out of the waste area,put it together again and try, but I'd say the copy cartridge is the culprit. GOOD LUCK
