    Drum won't seat in a Riso 3105

We got this little duplicator after one of the glaciers retreated. It is so old there are no techs in our area that will service it anymore, so I am hoping you can help.

The drum will not load properly. There is a 4 inch metal probe thing in the back that is hitting the drum. We have tried wiggling and realigning the drum to no avail. It loaded for years with no problems, but now when trying to load the drum it goes in and stops about a quarter inch before seating completely. It doesn't lock and you can pull the drum out without having to press the release button.

We have tried all four drums, and none of them seat.

    Thanks!

greetings emily the problem is that the intermediate engraneje is out of time or maladjusted, open the back cover of the machine and remove the screws on the card both the source and the PC motherboard so you can see the gears.

I am in Venezuela and I would like to help the machine is a RP3105?

Ya what Ven said, the 3 main drive gears were made out of plastic and would break around a million copies. Then they changed them to metal so they wouldn't break. I don't know if they are even around any more but they were a pain to replace and retime the machine. I'd say kick it to the curb and if you need still need a Riso find a used EZ 390/590 if you need 11x17, or get a 220 if you only need 8.5x14. Or look into the newest models xx1's, they aren't as expensive as the RP's were or as difficult to work on and it will last another 10+ years.

      Good Luck
