Riso GR 3770: Delivery Problem
I get a paper jam message, everything stops and the delivery tapes just slowly drift 2 printed sheets of paper out that just manage to drop over the edge into the delivery tray (the print quality is perfect). Reset and it repeats with two more sheets that again slowly drift out instead of shooting out.
Now, I do have another GR 3770 that gave out and can use for parts. I had a real expert repairman on the GR 3770, Sean, that worked for Anders in Missoula, Montana but he moved on and I can't locate him. So I guess my best bet is to try to repair it myself (especially as it is an hour travel time each way from the big city). If the suggestion is to replace some sensor, could you give me a tip on getting them out? Thanks.
P.S. I kept playing with it, not knowing what I was doing, and somehow the paper started delivering properly (I ran 80 sheets to finish a run), but it is obviously reluctant about it for there is a noise like a gear might not mesh right or something knocking a bit like an old piece of farm machinery. It isn't terribly loud but I can't miss hearing it and knowing that no Riso I ever heard run before sounds like that. I'd appreciate any ideas for even though it runs, with that noise I can't imagine being able to run the 200 reams of paper I just finished accumulating for a hobby project, comb bound book I'm ready to start on. Thanks for any advise.
