    Riso 3770 - Master Mis-Feed problem

I just posted a question about a Riso 3770 and a "Close Scanner Table" message. This is a question about the same model Riso but a DIFFERENT machine.

This machine quit making masters a while back, although it still prints and operates perfectly otherwise. (We make masters on another Riso and insert the drum into this one for long print jobs.)

When I try to make a master, I get the following message: "Master Mis-Feed. Remove Master Roll Then Reinstall."

    Any ideas for repairing this?

check mylar guides to make sure they are not obstruction master. make sure there is not a cut master strip stuck in your cutter. check drive gears for master loading rollers to insure that the allen screws are still tight and have not backed out.

It is common that the roller which pulls the master through is loose. The small wheel on the end comes loose and the belt turns the wheel but not the roller. If the machine sounds like it's doing something but it's not then that is where to look. I'm no riso mechanic but have maintained my own for 10 years and this seems to be a common fault.

          Pretty much what he said.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

I have had this problem, and it was the rubber belts on the master recovery area.. new belts solved the issues.

              3770 has rubber belts?
