[Error Code] clamp error EO3 GR1700

    GR1700
Problem : After sequential operation test 104, the clamp solenoid is depressed but it is stucked up after opening the clamp it remained depressed it won't close the clamp back so, I stop the operation by pressing the start button. In this case, does the sensor sensed the magnet on the magnet plate? Or the clamp motor can't run in reverse to close the clamp. How do I check the clamp motor in forward and reverse. This is for the experienced technicians I ask for help.
    Always thankful.

TM 104 should open and close the clamp plate. When you press the start button mid operation it won't reverse and go back.

Check the magnet on the rear of the drum attached to the clamp plate. Or the small PC board that detects that magnet on the back wall of the machine can fail. Or the clamp solenoid/motor assy frame has a hairline crack in it (where it makes an L shape). Or the black guide above the clamp plate can get burred up stop the rotation.

      20gaugeO/U ,
After I checked the motor assembly, I also checked the magnet sensor and found that it was the culprit. The sensor at the right opens the clamp and the left sensor closes it. When I run TM 9 the right sensor beeps at .1 sec. interval while the other doesn't beep at all. Today, I just bought a replacement I hope it will work. Keep you posted on the development. Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it. Please don't stop helping others, I will try to help others too, so that the chain will continue.

Update: Today, I learned that the magnet sensor is ok and working, the trouble is the clamp motor can't go back to its original position, I observed that before it goes up, the drum moves half centimeter from home position that's why the engaged gears locks up together and the clamp motor stays there forever unless I push it up.
I wish I'm an expert about these, but no, Please let me learn.

Is the gear on the drum or the clamp plate motor assy chewed up? Are you watching this happen with the right side cover open (cover switches engaged) in test mode? Or with the back cover off? What happens if you press down on the motor assy with your fingers when it is opening and closing the clamp plate?

4 gold screws and 3 connectors (a few wire ties) will have the clamp plate motor assy out. Check it out or swap it if you can.

The gear on the drum is perfect also the motor gear that drives it. I saw it opens and closes the clamp perfectly. The only thing that seems (to me) not right is the "extra push" of the drum before the solenoid action to raise up. It seem, the gears are tighten hard enough not to let the solenoid go up. ( I can live with it for a while, just for now)

Second problem occurred, while I tried to make a master to check if I can still use the machine (I can just cut the master and wrap around the drum and make copies though) The E19 code showed up, I pressed ALL RESET button to erase it, but it keeps coming back and the TPH motor continuously running which make the TPH raise up and down.

I have to sit down, stop working this for a while, think about the good things in my life, take a big deep breath, and hope for this site where people you don't really know are trying to help people they don't know, and sense that I am not alone. Words of thanks really never pays at all, appreciation do.
