    Riso 3770 T11 error

My Riso GR 3770 started giving intermittent T11 errors and now it is stuck on the T11 error.

I have checked the pressure control motor and wires and gear. They look fine.

Is there a way to get the error to turn off or bypass?

    possible causes for T11
    1. dead spot in motor = replace motor
    2. bad encoder sensor = replace motor
    3. pressure sensor dirty/bad = clean or replace
    4. check print pressure and adjust if necessary (see tech manual if you have one).

It has been giving me T11 error and T5 errors. The manual says it could be the fuse in the power supply. I replaced fuses and it intermittently worked. All reset before the error showed up allowed me to raise the elevator and change other settings but it still occurs.

I asked for a way to bypass it and I found one. Go to diagnostic mode by turning on and pressing L/P M/P and then option 107 will run while ignoring those errors but it will not count.

Motor would burn up or screw/gear would strip out 50%-50%. Got a parts machine? Replace all. Should fix you.

Why would the motor burn up? What screw/gear would strip out? What part to replace?

I do have a parts machine and swapped motor control board and system board and it still had the errors and it is not the pressure control motor as that was swapped.

wow I just got this error after running the machine through a few runs today, and I'm in the middle of a job.

Yeah I'd like to know what needs replacing or cleaning,

While I was printing today, there would be some pretty rough squeaking when I would adjust the density and at the end of every run of prints, so is that the pressure motor?

I did a quick search and somebody had said that it could be the 'adjustment screw and gear' where is that? could somebody point out what I should be looking at to clean/replace on this pic http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/at...3770-riso2.jpg

Must be the screw/gear combo. It's supposed to be oiled on every service call with the back cover off. TM 114 will cycle the motor. The other way to watch it cycle is leave the power switch on. Remove the back cover. Unplug power cord and plug back in. It will (supposed to) cycle every time the machine is turned on or start/stop of every print job. That's why the screw gets stripped.

Take the motor out (loosen 2 gold screws) and turn it by hand. It should move smooth, any tough uneven jitter and the motor is bad. It's the motor in the middle bottom of the pic that is black on the top, gold middle and silver bottom.

Hope it helps on an old machine.

Great, Ya I traced the grinding sound to that screw gear and put a bit of machine oil on it and it seems to be working alright! I'll try taking out that motor still and see how well it turns just in case, thanks!
