Imo the pay for this type of work is not realistic with cost of living or skills needed compared to working other adjacent fields. Why work on copiers for 20 to 30 an hour when you could learn auto repair or pc and make 70+.

Good point.Too late for me now.I made more 17 years ago than I am making now .

It's crazy people don't want to do it. I think it's one of the best kept secrets in the "Trades" ( i know not a trade) Once you understand the basics of a copier -- the job itself is pretty easy. Not to mention the 2-4 hours a day the tech might be traveling, making essentially free money. The pros far outweigh the cons.

Most repair jobs have travel time.It is not fun to drive for hours.If I wanted to do that I would have become a truck driver.8 to 10 hours a day free money!Basics of copiers doesnt cut it today.Most is in that gray area between the printer and the network.Try using basic printer info to repair a machine they send you to fix that you have never seen and dont have a manual.Some thing as simple as taking of the panels becomes a big headache when you dont know where the release latches are.The only good thing today is the machines are more reliable and I spend most of my time make that free money delivering supplies.( and sitting in the office trying to help someone over the phone)

You can make 30 an hour as a copy tech? I am severely underpaid!!!! 😂

making 30 here, just gotta jump ship every 2-3 years. Just learn all you can at each company then jump. Internal raise you'll be lucky to get a dollar jumping easy 5-15 dollar increase.

Idk im a mamager i have a tech who has been with me for 2 years. He came to me know nothing ibstarted him at 21 he currently is at 27.

If you are a good tech who follows the outline given and liaten its easy to make the money. Most people mainly the new generarion want to make high money with no knowledge.

They want everything given to them with no effert.

Ifnyou are willing to do the work and the training its worth it.
