Things are changing.
I was laid off 2 years ago and was only able to find a part-time/no benefits position.
Over that time I applied for every position I could find. That would be 3 interviews in 2 years.
I have my resume on every board you can imagine.
Now in the last 30 days I have had 4 hits by head hunters.
One of them was an in-house head hunter for a major international high tech manufacturer.
First contact was February 28. My interview was March 5th. I was hired March 6th and start on March 21st as the in-house tech to service all of their printers and MFP's on a huge Silicon Valley campus and all that that entails.
I know that these last few years have been a bitch but I just wanted all of you to know that things are really starting to change.
And remember, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, ours is a field of critical need with manpower being estimated at 10% less than need.
Not everyone can do what we do. And with everyone going into networks, well, when was the last time you saw an entry level technician in this field.
Hang in there guys and have faith.
Things are indeed changing.
