Hi all...does anyone know if the KIP black & white toner machines lose any quality in printing black and grey tones as the toner runs down? With no waste toner, I would think it gets recycled (?) as it is used. Thanks.

Re: KIP wide format quality question
Theoretically the toner won't ever "Run Down". It's a monocomponent developing system with a piezoelectric toner sensor to replenish the developing unit from the toner bottle. If the piezo sensor fails, then yes, the level in the developing unit drops, leaving faint areas, but its pretty obvious when you take the top off of the developing unit.
Yes, in practice you'll find that use of low quality paper (paper dust) can slightly contaminate the toner in developing unit, but it rarely affects quality. More often, the developing unit just reaches 300K square feet, and the developing unit needs a rebuild.
Do you have a specific model in mind?
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
