[CQ] Brother MFC 8890d Light Help list.

I get a high pitch whirling noise when making a copy that I suspect is laser motor. I don't think there is a test to just run the motor- haven't checked.

Copies come out light. I ran the Help List and it comes out light. I didn't ask him if he had changed the drum.
I cleaned the laser glass above the Toner/Drum assembly and copies got a little darker. I ran a test pattern and it looks okay but I don't have another machine to compare it with- thus that is why I ran a Help List.

If it is not the Drum can I assume it to be the Laser Unit?

Brother machines use age compensation on parts. Some of the parts need to be reset correctly or you can get light prints.
