    8220 fax machine

Any idea what causes this... The client just change toner and this thing happen. Part of the print is missing on the left side of the paper.. from top to bottom. Not just for reports even incoming faxes...

Remove the drum unit and move that blue cleaning piece back and forth a couple of times. If that doesn't resolve the dropout, replace the drum unit.

Well it most likely one of 3 things. Toner. Pull the toner out and make sure you can see toner all across the rubber Roller (it presses up against the drum when it's installed). As previously mentioned use the blue tab on the drum to clean the wire. If you don't put it back in the correct place you will see a black line on the page when you go to print something. So match it up with the stamped arrow on the drum unit when done. The third thing would be optics. Pull the drum and toner out look inside the machine above the area where the drum sits you will see a the glass inside. Clean that glass if it's dirty it will also cause a void line. This is kind of rare. So most likely drum or toner...try new/different ones
