I am having terrible difficulty with Brother printer all in one. I can clear message by turning off for a while and can then print a sheet or two. The machine has been cleaned with compressed air. Belt unit has been wiped. Toner waste unit has been replaced. I hear a clicking as if it is trying to load a page but then stops and 2A error pops back up. Please help.

Re: Error Unable to Print 2A
You posted in the Brother forum, but, you fail to mention the model. Sounds like a color model.
Are you able to observe the picking action by shining a light in the (maybe) slit from the rear of the printer where the paper tray slides in?
I'm not a Brother tech. Just trying to get some additional info. -
Re: Error Unable to Print 2A
Guess you can tell I am NEW to this. Just trying to fix the MFC-9840cdw Brother all in one that I have. What I think I am hearing is the clicking of the mechanism to pick up the paper but its unable to do so. I will go to the internet and see if I can find some you tube videos to help me figure out what you all are telling me. It's been such a good machine...Comment

She posited this before in https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/f...al-discussion/
I think really tech is needed to sort this, sorry Miss.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Re: Error Unable to Print 2A
The Brother MFC-9840cdw was introduced in 2007 and discontinued in 2011 and sold for less than $500.00 .
You probably cannot get parts or repair if you tried. Brother MFPs of that era were not designed to be repaired and is considered disposable.
You can spend $100+ for one hour of technical time that may or may not fix the problem.
Time to begin shopping for a new MFP and recycle this one. It has no value.
