    Brother DCP-L3560CDW print issue

    Hi Folks
I have a customer with a DCP-L3560CDW laser printer and it prints fine on post labels with our generic toners except where the bar code is. Where the bar code is it is obviously a large amount of black and it looks like the toner is bleeding between the gaps in the bar code. I would assume that increasing the toner fixing or even reducing the resolution would burn the toner on harder and stop this from happening. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this? Thank you in advance.

      Tried original black toner?

Thank you for your reply. No but that is our next option. It just seems strange that the non genuine toner prints perfectly except where the heavy coverage of toner is with the bar code. I was hoping to be able to sort this out without going to genuine toners. Thank you for your reply. Kind regards Dean

Probably 50% of my problems with brother machines are caused by generic toners.

You might try changing the media type to Bond, or Rough, or Thick Paper, on both the machine and in the print drivers. This effect is more common on color copiers because the layer(s) of toner are cumulatively thicker. Essentially, in places that you pile on more toner, you need more heat. On a black & white printer, when the toner is just barely fusing, incremental differences in the amount of toner can make a difference.

I don't love generic toner, but try this first.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
