Toner Fixing problems with new HL 5210 with Labels

    Hello,

the toner gets not fixed correctly form time to time with labels printed from multi-purpose tray.
The label gets printed with setting label in the driver and prints slowly (as it should) but the toner
gets not fixed correctly at some places from time to time.
My colleague said he solved this issue with paper type setting thick 2. I will try it.
What are your experiences. If it works not then it must be the fuser unit.
The printer is new. What are your experiences?

We had issues with this also on the new 9670 and had to go to change the paper type setting also. It turned out that the labels they had always used in the older 9570 were a new batch and were just slightly heavier stock.

Usually the problem should be solved by setting the paper to "thicker" or even using "card stock". I assume you are using OEM toner.

Your colleague is spot-on! Using the "Thick 2" paper type setting is the correct solution. Labels need extra heat/slower speed for proper toner fusion. The multi-purpose tray often requires this manual setting override, even if you chose "Labels" in the driver. On a new printer, this almost always fixes poor label fusing – it's rarely the fuser unit itself. Definitely try "Thick 2" first; it should resolve the patchy toner problem.
