[CQ] brother mfc 9640 white vertical line

i have a mfc 9640 that has only done 25k b/w an 10k colour

i get a white stripe going from top to bottom of the page. [feed direction]

all four drum units are changed. toner cartridge has also been changed.

laser glass above drum units in the machine have also been cleaned.

weird thing is that when i print a test page from the driver i have no white stripe.
when i print an internal configuration page from the printer, i get a white stripe.
prints a pdf with no white line
internet site has no white line.
anything from word has a white stripe.
same white line at the same place


i get the same thing from all computers

get the idea??

any help is appreciated

Would try firmware update first. Then print a full coverage test page and post it here so we can see.

I have never done a firmware update on a brother before. Could you explain to me how it's done??

Go to the driver download page for your printer on Brothers website and dowload the update tool. As painful as a flu shot.

please try a page alignment as well. with the above suggested upgrade.
