    [Error Code] Canon IPF 770 error code 3130031-2F25

    I have a Canon IPF 770 coming up with the following error codes.

    3130031-2F25

    I'm thinking head unit unless anybody else has any other suggestions. Cleaned unit and there is no obstruction for the carriage.

      It means that the carriage is not moving like it's supposed to, and there are many reasons why that might be:

      1) the carriage belt might be disintegrating. Check for a lot of rubber particles dusted below the belt.
      2) the encoder strip may be dirty. Keep in mind that all those very tiny silk-screened lines can be scrubbed right off, making it useless. Use only alcohol to clean, and some encoder strips just won't come clean without removing the silk-screening. In the photo it's kinda hard to see that's supposed to be transparent.
      3) it certainly might be some sort of detection issue, but I doubt it. Start with $1 and #2.

      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
