Corrupt print job. Find the offending print job and remove from queue then restart printer. I've seen it happen from recipe websites alot.

Correct. Connect your laptop directly to the printer. Print. Gently tell your IT gentleman that he's getting some kind of data coming to the printer, possibly corrupt print data. Your responsibilities end there.

You might suggest selecting an unused new IP address. That way you never really have to find the culprit. Let it transmit whatever it wants to that old IP address. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

In addition to the others and As always. Make sure the firmware is updated to the latest. Hp firmware is downloadable free on hp.com website.

This is probably the best approach. That way, after you've changed the IP address and the problem doesn't come back, you have proof that it's them and not the printer. If the problem does come back right away, then you replace the formatter. But that probably won't happen.

I've seen this code a lot, and it's always been from corrupt print jobs, often from users trying to print web pages with ads (Zillow is a common culprit). Updating the firmware reduces the frequency of this error.

Also, if you can't find the offending user/computer and therefore can't cancel the print job, update the firmware and then once the printer has the new firmware, it may be able to print the job normally. I've done that a few times when I couldn't locate where the job was coming from.
