    HP laserjet enterprise flow M880z+

Doesn't it just trip off your tongue? I wonder if they couldn't have thought of a longer name?

I'm looking for a part number for light source #1, aka CIS assembly. The one in the scanner. I found a manual on Liberty, but they conveniently clipped out the parts list.
My symptom is a gray line down all scans and copies, and I've successfully moved it around a little, but I don't have a small enough Torx bit to get into the scanner. It must be T6, T5? Something like that. It's probably just dirt, but it won't come out. Part number please? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Did you try making a copy from the glass itself to see if it does the same thing?
Get that Torx bit! Checked the parts manual and this part is not listed. Knowing HP, you have to buy the scanner unit.

          I bought a T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T10 kit today. I'll try it out tomorrow.
It figures that HP would sell the scanner as an assembly.

Off the glass I get a similar band, perhaps 15mm wide, and slightly more faint, roughly same location. It does not appear on the 2nd side CIS. And in my efforts to blow it out the first time I moved it over about 10mm. The only real risk is changing some focus fine adjustment.

My guess is that an insect crawled in there and died. =^..^=

              Following up:
It took the T6 and T10 Torx tips to partially disassemble. The extruded aluminum side is attached by a very tight ribbon cable. limiting how far you can move shift the pieces. I was able to get a Q-tip inside and clean some blueing off the mirrors. The lamp side disassembles a little further. No improvement though.

The part number for the scanner assembly is not a valid part number (CF367-60106). I ended up getting a document feeder assembly. By proximity it's close, but won't do a thing for my scanning problem.

Does anybody have a retired or slightly damaged M880 with an intact scanner they can sell? Or even just light source #1 with the ribbon cable? =^..^=

The scanner resolved it. The part number that finally arrived was A2W75-67908. The original scanner had a whopping 3900 scans at time of replacement.

Notice how the shaded area on the glass starts 6mm lower on the page than through the DF, and 7.7mm wider. I'm having a hard time explaining that. =^..^=

I suspect yes, since my parts guy requested the core for return. =^..^=

Nope. It's the same DF connected to the same scanner board. It's just sitting on a different piece of glass. The only reset is the flatbed count. It was actually far easier than cleaning the stupid optics (that didn't work, by the way). Just expensive. =^..^=

I know this is years past when this was created but I just ran into this issue and you can just buy the scanner optic piece. The part number is C8569-60001 and it costs a lot less than the entire scanner assembly.
