hp 4250 jamming from tray 3

have changed in the machine. fuser, swing arm assembly, tray 2 feed solenoid, all feed tires and the torque limiters. cleaned off the gummy stuff on the black exit fingers, found another sticky part on the white part right under the drum unit. blown out every sensor i can find that might have a dust issue. tray 2 when in diagnostics paper path test works like a dream. tray 3 seems to go about 20 to 30 pages then gives either a 13.02.00 or 13.20.00 i also get ramdon 13.98.00 errors but the machine still will run and finish the prints. enclosed is the event log sheet so maybe i can get pointed in the right direction. just in case this is important, the machine is inside a building that makes all sorts of sausages. everything seems like its covered in grease. im sure thats my imagination but it is pretty intense. thanks

Some of the worst places to have a machine i found is.

    A Tile factory.
    Chrome mine.
    Chicken feed plant.
And worst of all a KFC.
    Whatever

Since tray 2 works fine, your issue is the tray 3 feeder assembly. Did you repaired or replaced tray 3 paper feed solenoid?

remove the paper feed assy located behind the manual feed tray. clean it thoroughly and check the flag in the assy is moving freely and not sticking. lube the bushings of the assy too.

I had an old Canon Fax in a KFC. The black streaks in the scans were caused by a cup of extra crispy breading in the CCD optics. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had a 4250 tray 3 jamming on me once. I fixed the solenoid in the tray 3 assembly, cleaned everything, lubed everything. I just couldn't get it working. Like you, it jammed every 20 or 30. The tray 3 unit isn't all that expensive. It might save you a lot of time and some money just to replace the whole thing.
