Anyone seeing a problem with the OEM belts... especially for the 500/800? Lately, I've been seeing them slip where they attach to the carriage. Brand new OEM belts--when I install them, I can physically pull hard enough to make them slide back and forth. I started using the generic ones, and they don't budge. On one of them, I didn't have a belt with me, and I put a spot of superglue to hold it in place. I have a feeling that's going to come back and bite me in the ass some time in the next few years.

Re: Designjet 500/800 OEM belts
I've noticed that once in a while, but not to the point where the carriage could slip along the belt without a lot of force. And not specifically on the 500/800.
Make sure none of the plastic bits are missing that the belt threads around. The plastics on older printers gets so brittle they can snap right off. It's really obvious with the plastics on the 500/800 tube assemblies.
It also wouldn't be the first time there was a bad run of belts from HP.
LPS Computers manufactures their own belts and I've used a lot of them, though their longevity is somewhat in question. I put one in a 60" 5500 and it only lasted about 3 months, but I can't be certain it was a LPS belt either.
