LJ CM2320nf mfp. No boot when fax line is in.

If fax line or telephone line is in, the MFP won't boot up. After the loading bar it gets stuck in a black screen.

If you plug in the fax after boot, fax works fine.

I tried the factory reset and think it's time to order some parts.

I'm not sure if this is a formatter issue or just the fax board causing the problem.

What do you think?

As the fax board is unfortunately built into the formatter then i would say that purchasing a new formatter would be your first option in the way of parts.

Have you tried a factory reset to restore the default settings, clear the nvram? just another option before you empty the pockets on new parts. Below are the steps for the reset. Hope this works

1. Turn the printer off
2. Hold down the down arrow and the cancel button
3. Reboot the printer while holding the buttons and hold until permanent storage is displayed. Let go of the buttons and wait for the ready message on the display.

This reset will clear all of your saved settings and contacts so have a backup.

After trying the NVRAM Init, make sure the latest revision of firmware is loaded.

Actually the fax board and formatter are separate.

I did the factory reset already. I didn't know this was a firmware issue, but I can look into that.
