How would you clear a paper jam in the Designjet 4500? This occurred when the customer was trying to put in a new paper supply. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.Rudy

Use a piece of cardboard, like from the back of a legal pad, and use it to push the paper either up or down through the paper path. Unlock all of the pinch rollers, of course.. and pull the drawers out. You can usually get under there and either pull the paper down, or have someone try to feed the cardboard from above as you pull.
Worse case is you have to drop the 2nd roll feed which is a nightmare. I've been lucky on most jams and managed to get the paper out without having to remove it. It's actually easy to drop it but very difficult to raise it back up into position without multiple people involved.

By the way, if you're not familiar with the roll drawers operation, get the user guide from HP's website. There's a whole section on paper jams and particularly a jam with roll #2.
