So it's past the reg roller?

You might check on the machine settings and make sure tray 1 (tray 1 is the manual tray for HP) is set to size=any and type=any

it's definitely the tray 1 and yes it hit reg fine but where the lift up plate is. It just come past the lift up plate by a 1/4 to 1/8 inch. I believe if it went 1/4 inch more it would hit the Transfer roller and continue to transport to the fuser. But like i said i don't work on these much my favorite is the 4250 unstoppable

These are based on the 425x printers.

Is the registration assembly gate in the wrong position?

Remove the foam pad from the registration assembly.

I would think if it was in the wrong position the bottom 2 trays wouldnt feed either but they do the bottom trays work fine it just the manual feed tray tray #1

The above reply is confusing. But first did you set tray1 size and type to "any" as Theengel suggested. You original post you said the paper stop before the charge roller, witch is located in the all in one cartridge. Now in the above reply you said it just come past "the lift up plate by a 1/4 to 1/8 inch. I believe if it went 1/4 inch more it would hit the Transfer roller".

Check the tray1 solenoid and make sure it is installed correctly. Clean all the rollers properly. also check tray 1 roller and separation pad for wear.

                Printing from tray 1
The tray 1 paper sensor (PS105) detects the presence of media in tray 1.
When the dc controller PCA receives the print command, the printer starts the initial rotation phase,
which consists of the main motor warm-up, scanner motor warm-up, high-voltage control sequence,
and fuser warm-up. When the initial rotation phase ends, the tray 1 pickup solenoid (SL102) is
                activated.
The cam rotates, the paper-tray lifter rises, and the media comes in contact with the tray 1 pickup
roller. At the same time, the tray 1 pickup roller rotates twice and picks up a sheet of media from tray
                1. The separation pad prevents additional sheets from feeding with the first sheet.
When the sheet reaches the registration assembly, its skew is corrected. The sheet then passes
through the transfer, separation, and fusing stages, and through the delivery unit, and is then
                delivered to the output bin.

If you look i edit it to say transfer roller. I make it about 1/8 to 1/4 right before the transfer roller all other t trays fee fine it's just tray #1 manual feed tray iv set the paper to the size i was using at the time.
