[Error Code] hp designjet Z5400 error code 804 (needs firmware update)

Checked the printer hp z5400, found the printer not working with error that the firmware needed to be updated
Install the last version of firmware from hp website, tried to install it to printer got this error:
"Dependencies checking has been failure"
Tried to restart the printer and got the same error that printer firmware need to updated I'm thinking formatter or damaged hard drive this is the second time to see this error in 3 months. first time it took the update and asked for a new black printhead , it's been good till now, any suggestions Thanks

What error are you getting? 74:xx?

Can you get it into the service tests menu? Run the electronics module test and see what it comes up with. You're probably on the right track about the formatter.. probably the hard drive is dying.

the code on the machine when I got there was 08:04 update firmware, I removed all the printheads to see if it would check that far and tell me to install them. It did not get that far, about 75 % into initialization it came up with a 21:13 code. I turned it of and installed printheads and turned it back on, this time about 75% into initialization it threw a 86:01 code each time after about 20 seconds it would go back to the 08:04 code. I tried to enter service mode to check the electronics module. Could never get there. I'm really leaning toward the formater or hdd Any ideas Thanks

Might want to try reseating the RAM on the formatter. Other than that, I have no idea; I agree with it being the formatter or hard drive. Can you heard the hard drive clicking at all?
