Hi All,
I'm working on a HP Photosmart C3180 (C3100 series) for a friend of mine (i'm not a HP tech) and everytime i turn the unit on, it pulls through paper and has it sitting half way ejected. To me, this sounds like there is a cam/solenoid issue as it is "kicking in" when it shouldnt be. so i intended to disassemble the unit to see which component is likely the cause and to check to see if a sensor has broken. this leads me to my next question:
Just wondering if anyone knows how to seperate the printer unit from the base of the machine. I've taken out all of the torx (star headed) screws and i've unlatched the plastic hook on the left hand side (looking front on with machine) which is located under the cleaning/purge station (this requires sliding the station to the left to see this latch). However, i notice on the right hand side, it seems to get caught onto a gear which rotates to slide another cleaning unit (it contains blades to wipe the printheads) located on the right hand side. I cant see anyway to get pass this as any more force will break this gear and the shaft along with it.
So if anyone can shed some light on my problem it would be great. thank you.
kind Regards,
Steve
