    HP 4014 not feeding paper

    Hello all,
I'm working on a 4014. The printer is not feeding paper, I replaced the PF solenoid but still the same, clutch works fine as I can manually initialize feed at the solenoid.
Machine runs cycle to the point of initiating solenoid but never does, then repeats a run cycle for about ten seconds then again no solenoid action.

So I suspect the DC controller P#-RM1-5047/ 49.

Has anyone had a DC controller do this?
    Thanks

Had a similar issue on an M60x series. Turned out the tip of one of the sensor flags on the pickup assembly broke off causing the printer to act like your describing. RM1-4562 - Paper feed shaft Z assembly.

I had a weird problem like this, but I can't remember if it was the exact symptoms. I ended up replacing the DC controller, and that did not help. Finally, as I was pulling out the toner ctg, I noticed that the orange tab hadn't been pulled off. I did this, and everything started working. Again, I don't remember the exact symptom, I just remember that the problem and symptom did not match at all.

The symptom theengel is the machine says there is no paper in the tray even though there is. Had several calls like that.

Turned out that the fuser was the cause

Any chance these were Sharp SF-741 series? That was awhile ago am I right?
Had to have a pair of bamboo tongs when they jammed and damn near caught on fire, other techs told me they did catch but I just saw after the fact.

Yes, the SF 741 came with bamboo tongs, haha. Toughest repair on those was when the drum hubs broke.
Worked on those day in and day out, and wish I had one of those copiers now to keep as a collectable
