That's from the almighty Google, so it may be incorrect.
Sounds like just removing toners or ink carts, pulling the plug, waiting a minute, plugging it back in and firing it up should do it. Doesn't sound like it would work long without the toner or ink, hopefully the machine would request cartridges be installed soon after booting.
(Just in case the ctrl-v isn't visible for one odd reason or another.)
