HP laser jet P2015 memory upgrade card wont work?

Hi guys, Happy Halloween.
this printer, the P2015 (CB366A) model was slow on some complex print jobs. i recommended a memory upgrade. i installed a 256MB, parts # CB423A. after i installed it, the printer displays the add paper orange light, and never comes to ready.
i left, got a replacement module, and returned to find the same symptom.

this printer is a USB non network version. am i loading a card that has to much capacity? or not compatible with this model number???

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

if you remove the memory DIMM does it go back to ready? did you print out the config page on it before and after DIMM installation?

the P/N you provided is the correct one.. did you wear anti-stat strap when installing it? did you unplug printer when installing it?

Time for either a replacement formatter or bake the current one. I've done it a couple of times. Works great. Reflows the solder.

Hi guys, yes, turned off, and grounded my self.
the printer works without the memory card. when it is installed, the machine never comes to ready. shows the out of paper orange light.

so, i cant print a test page. these dont actually do a config, just a advertising page. these only have the buttons and lights, no display LCD panel. i tried to see if there was a secondary trouble code, but nothing changed when i held down the go button. or any other buttons.

i have baked the P3005 board, but never worked for me.

yes they do a config page :

Configuration page
The Configuration page lists current settings and properties of the printer. It also contains a status
log report. You can print a Configuration page from the following locations:
● Printer control panel. Press the Go button until the Ready and Error lights start blinking, and
then release the Go button.
