HP 4345 /Jamming at Reversing unit

    Hi
I replaced the fuser and swing plate unit 2 weeks ago and the customer has been calling with
periodic jamming .I went to machine and Im getting frequent jams at fuser entrance ,somtimes looking
slightly raised. Is it possible to put the reversing fan in backwards and cause this type of problem.
It is the only 4345 I work on and Im not sure which way fan went in machine,
    THANKS FOR ANY HELP
    ANDY

    Hi Andy!

I have similar problems with refubish fusers.
I'm not sure if the fan can turn backwards but you can check it. On this model, the fans are facing with inscription and cables on inside. What is the jam code?
On this model, I had to replace the swing plate several times.

          Hi
Sorry about delay in replying and thanking everybody for replys and help.I replace with ANOTHER REFURBISHED FUSER and I think machine has worked better
with less jamming at fuser but not perfect as I still got some jams,Customer hasnt complained but I still feel
          problem not completely resolved.
          THANKS ANDY

Have been dealing with a similar problem on one unit, fixed 1 year ago by replacing the reversing guide assembly that hangs off the top (it has a sensor actuator/flag that drops into the sensor on the reverse ass'y just to left of toner cart.
Error 13.0A, unspecified jam, with 'jam in top cover area' message. The actuator literally has worn off the corner and the paper can't quite push it into the sensor below it any longer.
I'm going back with fuser, toner cart, and the guide assembly in question. I'm also wondering if the two springs that maintain pressure could be fatigued and contributing to the problem, so I"m going to stretch them out a bit, and see what happens. Especially if I see no wear on theirs, just installed 1 yr. ago.

You can do a sensor check as directed by the service manual and nail down a dirty flaky sensor as well. You can work each sensor by hand with the shell open, very useful!!!!
