HP M775z lines from transfer belt

We have a customer that has 2 M775z's. Both of the machines will have the same problem. After about 48k pages they start to get lines form the transfer belt unit. You can clean the belt and cleaning unit and it will go away but eventually the lines score deep enough into the belt that it has to be replaced. We are using OEM toner. Also it seems like the toner just sits against the blade and the belt and has a difficult time getting into the transport area. This continues to happen even after replacing the transfer belt unit. Anyone seen this before? Seems odd that it happens on both machines.

    thanks

I haven't had one of those belts go full life... if you find a fix... please update this thread.

Ditto above. And they are EXPENSIVE.

sorry, bit it is good to hear that we are not the only ones experiencing this problem. I'm not sure there is a fix. Seems like a bad design the way the toner piles up against the blade and belt.

I've been wanting to tear one of them apart, but, not. Mainly because I don't want toner all over the place.

My m750 (same belt) just got lines at 15k..they're using generic toner. I don't have any control over that but the belt was OEM. But I made sure to check the waste system wasn't backed up. It's actually very simple design and was functioning.

In this situation, toner manufacture doesn't matter. Have seen these belts get backed up when using nothing BUT HP toner.

I have same problems with 2 machines M775 - not so many pages printed (15.000 or 40.000) and the transfer belt has lines on it. I must replaced them. With genuine toners.
I think there is problem with cleaning mechanism.
The manifacturing is at poor quality?

                  Probably poor cleaning blade material.

I'll say me too, customer with 2 551's, every few months I have to go out and clean the transfer belts, then all good for a few months.

While the installation manual for printers clearly states that printers need to be on a level surface, often that is not checked very closely. With this printer series, confirming that the installation surface is level is critical. Waste toner can build up and cause problems at less than 40k pages. If the waste toner issue is left too long, the toner can scratch the belt or damage the seals in the waste toner collector and then you have to replace the whole transfer belt.

Our customers failed at 40% Life, using Remanufactured toners as of now, but most of that usage was with OEM...

I did deconstruct the old Belt, was interesting, and definitely messy.

The only solution that has worked for me is to vacuum out the cleaning blade unit every month or two.

I recently purchased a used M775 and when I got it home it was doing this.

I pulled the transfer belt out, carefully popped the cover off the waste end (only a few clips), and vacuumed the toner out.

After that, zero issues on the very next print!

Hope this helps someone in the future.
