    hp color enterprise 500 m551

    Hi all,

Problem is after printing around 700 color pages, cooling device appears and then it keeps on appearing every 20-40 color pages.
i already replaced the fuser. printer is plugged directly to an outlet. i also unplugged the power and press the power button more than 10 seconds and turn the printer on again but it didn't solve the problem. fan is working. tried searching for the solution online but can't find any.

    hope you can help.

Printing shop. Any recommendation which hp model can handle this kind of print job? Client is not interested with the latest model. Any older model will do. Btw, which part of the machine is causing this "cooling device"? i already replaced the fuser but it's still coming out and the fan is working.
      Will upgrading the memory help?

Probably a 4700 would work. Or even a 4600. They're older, but they're pretty solid.

Internal temperature sensor, I believe it is next to the Exhaust Fan, or it is on the B/W lasers.

Just have to wait for it to cool down apparently would be my guess.

get them something that has a separate drum/toner

it could be a number of things.. pinched wire...improper installation of fuser..... bad DCC... fan that rotates but not fast enough.... dust/dirt in fan blades.

HP CLJ CM6040... although those drums take a lot of money to keep up with. I wonder what printing costs are when you compare a 6040 with a 4700.

They have 4650 and 4700 and yes they are solid but they prefer the print quality and speed of the m551 though 4700 is fast also. any comments about cp4525dn and m651dn?

m651dn = NO! no better than what they have now

I've seen the 6040s, they're pretty solid units as long as you get decent supplies for them.

The 4525 are pretty good machines. What is being printed? Are they using OEM toners in the 4700, because I would think the quality would be great.

yup drums are expensive on this model since it's A3 size. they only need legal size max.
