Bad cartridges
Very common problem is toner contamination in the laser/scanner unit. Have pulled and cleaned several over the years. -

I'd say bad cartridges too, especially if there's any chance they were left out in the sun for an extended period. The toner in those cartridges is probably baked to rock hardness if there is any chance of that.
When I encountered that problem it included two new cartridges of each color excluding black on a 6040, it vexed me for an entire day, caused me to drive around a hundred miles, and I only found out about it because another tech from the mothership disassembled some of the cartridges in question while I was on the road getting new ones.Last edited by Iowatech; 05-28-2018, 01:19 AM.Comment
