T1700--Any problems to be aware of before buying?

Looking at buying a T1700PS 44" and am wondering if anyone has any insight into the printer. Any reliability issues? Software issues? Will be using on Windows 10 and also a mac. Mainly for line drawings but some graphic design work also. Heavy bond and backlit materials.

My only reservation with the T1700 and the other newer models that use a unified printhead, is just that; if anything goes wrong with the printhead you have to replace the entire thing and it's $600 or so. I've had a customer with one and they had to replace the print head 3 times within 2 years. Also make sure the printer is supported by your version of iOS.

Personally I would get the T795.. though it does not have PostScript so may not be supported by the Mac.

Thanks for the info.

As I understand it, the PS option is required to use with MAC products. The graphic designer is the only person in the building who uses a MAC so it's a requirement I'm afraid.

The T795 has a raster driver for macOS, so you shouldn't need to buy the Postscript upgrade.
