Had a HDD failure on a T770 today. Looking for an image to burn on a new disk if anyone has it,
otherwise I'll begin attempting an 1:1 sector clone using an ICY BOX.

use acronis disk imager 2020

To clone the drive but first it will ask for the hdd password on power up of the pc.

The hdd password is available online for the designjets but it can vary depending model I have a small list of the passwords verified for each model and still working on finding more.

I think it's the same file i have.

I'd like to avoid mechanical HDs so i'd like to try to make a thing like this:
HP Designjet 800 500 PS Festplatte Fix Fehlercode 05:10 (elektronische SSD Version) | eBay (in auction pictures it is possible to see that there is a 4GB TRANSCEND CF card 133x)
using this:
TRANSCEND COMPACT FLASH 133X MEMORIA 4GB | eBay
and this:
CF Card Connector CF Compact Flash Card Type I/II to IDE SSD HDD Converter Card 2.5" IDE 44 Pin maschio a CF adattatore con custodia : Amazon.it: Informatica
but my question is (if you know ):
do i really need an USB to IDE adapter?
Do you think i can load the image straight on the CF card (inserted in an USB CF reader) and then put the card on the CF-IDE adapter?

I've tried to use a SSD a couple times and never got the printer to work. Your mileage may vary.

As long as you can get the image program to recognize your SSD as a drive, it should work.
