Re: Anyone successfully clone a Designjet hard drive?
Hello! Sorry for reviving an old thread but i have a Designjet T975 with a hard drive making sounds and giving me 08.11 error. Does anyone have an image for this?
Edit: After hooking up the drive to a pc for cloning attempts its asking for a password as you guys have mentioned already, but where can i find one for that model?

otherwise I'll begin attempting an 1:1 sector clone using an ICY BOX.
Thank god this forum exists by the way
Please I need an image for it as well, did you manage to find one?

Re: Anyone successfully clone a Designjet hard drive?
Hi All
This is a very informative thread. Than you for keeping these old horses alive. I have a designjet 1055cm plus I am trying to resurrect. I replaced the drive years ago and forgot how I did it. The drive appears to be working but I wanted to clone it just in case of failure. It has been about 8 years. I am having trouble trying to burn an image but am still trying. Does anyone have any tips for cloning? I am using an ide to usb adapter in clonezilla but I am having issues with copying an image of to a file. I only have 1 ide adapter so I can't try disk to disk. Even better, would someone have an image from a 1050 / 1055 hard drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

It is a very old method but if you can get a utility that can do absolute sector copying it is possible. I used to use Norton Utilities under DOS.

Hi and thanx. I don't have a pc old enough to have an ide interface. I don't think dos had usb drivers back then. I have a second usb adapter coming to try direct disk to disk with clonezilla. I may try searching out an old pc. Thanx for the suggestion. I will keep trying.

Sorry to revive the topic, but I need an image of the HD of an HP Designjet T2300, could anyone make this image available or indicate where I can find it?
Re: Anyone successfully clone a Designjet hard drive?
Sure will do, i have not tested it yet i didn't plug the machine in.
The machine is now put away in stock -
the hdd copy is done on acronis true image.
for other machines i think they need a certain boot partition then have the firmware on the usb to do a firmware update or see if the eeprom reset can be done.
Any chance I would be able to get a copy of that image? I recently bought a Z5600 from a recycler but of course they pulled the drive for data security. I have a ton of hard drives but I need the special HP Blessings to give it life again it seems.
Re: Anyone successfully clone a Designjet hard drive?
