Lance15 question re the HP color laser jet pro M452dw error 59.f0
Re: Lance15 question re the HP color laser jet pro M452dw error 59.f0
Hello, today I want to flash DCC controller with DCC firmware: but at HP color LJ Pro M452dn is not possible to use USB key for flashing DCC firmware (more at the link):
I tried method 2 and method 3, but nothing happened - the error 59.f0 still there.
When this DCC flashing is not working what spare part to change first?
- RM2-7909 - Assy-Engine Controller PCB (duplex)
- RM2-6454 - Intermediate transfer belt (ITB) assembly
- RM2–7342 - drum motor assembly
- other?

Have an M452 in the shop now for ITB under warranty. I wish the M452(dn) were like the M477's or M452(nw) with the front USB port. You can still upgrade the DC Controller on these with the front USB ports.
I tried doing the upgrade with sharing the printer with the error on the panel, but, it didn't do anything.
Re: Lance15 question re the HP color laser jet pro M452dw error 59.f0
Tech replaced the ITB. No more 59.F0.
Tried using "Method 2" on upgrading the DC Controller firmware on the M452dn. Install the driver, share the printer and use the 'copy /b <firmware path> <share>' from a command prompt. The control panel said "Printing Document". Printed config page afterwards. DIDN'T UPGRADE.
Gave the printer an IP address, enabled the FTP protocol (it's disabled by default). Connected laptop via crossover cable. Resent the firmware using FTP. The control panel said "Performing Upgrade". THIS time, it successfully upgraded the DC Controller firmware.
Moral of the story is to use FTP instead of 'copy /b'. The 'copy /b' DOESN'T work.
If you have the M452dw, M377 or M477 variants, you should just be able to use the front USB port to send the DC Controller firmware.
