    Hp 4000/horizontal lines

    HI,
Drum gets toner embedded over a period of time forming approx 1.5 inch lines (that of course repeat).you can scrap toner off (carefully) with your nails,or lite chemical. then over a period of tine it will happen again.Im using Oem 27x cartridges(FYI).I thought it was transfer roller(old one was VERY worn) so I put NERW one in. customer called back and said same thing is happennning again. it happens over 100s or even 1000s of copies. Any thoughts on matter ?
    Thanks, Andy

Never heard of this one. Here's a shot in the dark:

    Humidity Issue:
Are they working in a high humidity area?
What kind of paper are they using?

    Power Issue:
    Transfer charges not good
Bias charges on drum not normal?
Clean contacts on cartridge and in printer?
    Bad Power supply?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

      Hi,
thanks again for answer. It happens on every cartridge over time. I dont think its humidity issue. It looks like someone took a pencil and drew a line or two on drum .

I had a case with a customer using a brand of envelope that over a period of time the glue built up on the drum & the toner stuck to it.
