Help! Chaning the printer serial number on HP P2035

I just replace a formatter board on this printer and need to change the serial number of the printer. Anyone here has a PJL command to do this? I have try the one below, but no luck at all:

%-12345X@PJL JOB
@PJL SET SERVICEMODE=HPBOISEID
@PJL SET SERIALNUMBER=XXXXXXXXXX
@PJL SET SERVICEMODE=EXIT
@PJL RESET
%-12345X

NOTE: The product must be directly connected to the computer with an IEEE-1284 compliant parallel cable. PJL commands cannot be sent down to a printer that is connected via a USB connection.

I haven't used this process in MANY years and only a handful of times in the parallel days. Unless it's a printer that has that function in the Service menu, I don't bother.

This works on a m477 that is set up as a shared printer on the network using a dos command

ESC%-12345X@PJL SET SERVICEMODE=HPBOISEID
@PJL SET SERIALNUMBER=************
@PJL SET SERVICEMODE=EXIT
ESC%-12345X
