M452nw resend upgrade

So, I have an M452nw that had an intermittent although frequent 59.F0. I found info saying to update the DCC. Upon doing so, I now can't get past the resend firmware screen. I was trying to do it USB, per the instructions in the link. It wasn't on their network. I try to resend it through the cmd line, and it says 1 file copied. Nothing happens and it stuck. Any ideas on how to get past it. I tried loading it on a flash drive, but no go. Going to try hooking up network and doing it FTP, if it'll let me into the menus.

So, I'm able to at least get into the menus and set up networking and get to the web page after setting the IP address to enable FTP. I tried doing it FTP, the way the instructions said to, through the command prompt. I tried sending the file using ICLink (I'm a Kyocera dealer). Couldn't get anything to work.
Resend upgrade is all I get. I continued browsing more and found this thread:

I may have eventually got it the other ways. I installed filezilla and did it FTP. Eventually I did get it to go through.
Why in the world would it take you 20 times sending the file ? Thanks HP ! SMH
