I have a client with an HP Z6800 (F2S7A) and the belt is shredded. I have never replaced a belt on this series, though, I have replaced other HP carriage belt assemblies in the past. I watched a video from LPS on the 5500 belt replacement. Are these similar? Is there anything I should be aware of on this series?

Thanks a ton, skynet. It's because of your help, myself and another tech were able to tear it apart and replace the shredded belt. We ran into some of the usual issues of never having worked on a machine before kind of things but nothing major, we just referred to the service manual and it took us a little over 4 hrs to complete the job. I always dread putting on the final cover, plugging in the power and being at the mercy of the machine your not that fimiliar with and have it error out. Once it completed its forever process of alignment and calibration, much to our surprise... it came to ready and printed!!Comment

Congrats on getting it done AND following the service manual.
Just my two cents; never put the covers back on until after you've tested it. Because inevitably there will be something you forgot and will have to take the cover off again.
