You need to update firmware. I've included instructions with this post. See attachment. If this doesnt work, you'll need to replace the formatter.
Did you replace any boards on this machine recently. sometimes it occurs when a DC Controller from a non-duplex machine gets put in a duplex machine (and vice versa). Do not ever replace the DC Controller and Formatter simultaneously. Always replace one, power up to ready, power down and then install the other. Always perform multiple calibrations afterwards (at least 3). Hope this helps you.

had a similar issue on a hp p3005. you must load the firmware thru usb port.
disconnect printer, delete current driver. restart pc. when ready, connect usb cable to printer. pc should recognize printer. (load drivers, if pc does not do so automatically.) after the drivers are installed make sure you share the printer (right click on printer icon and share printer. make sure you give it a shared name...for example laserjet5500)
open command prompt and type.
copy /b filename \\computer name\share name

firmware pc name printer share name.
i did this a couple of times...you can turn the printer off and on if it does not work for you the first time. don't turn off if downloading firmware.

Reason: not finished
Thanks prntrfxr. I can only hope that I never need this information. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
I got a HP 5550. I can ear the fans and motors but no display at all. I have test all boards in working mc and it's look perfect. Can someone help???
Thanks
Make this a separate post as its a different problem and I'll be happy to post an answer.
